ABOUT MAUREEEN SHEA
Maureen Shea was born in the Bronx, NY to an Irish father, and mother of Mexican heritage. Shea can attribute her tenacity and focus to a strict upbringing at the hand of her father, a now retired NYPD Detective. Looking for an outlet from the difficulties of teenage life, Maureen turned to boxing. Finding a constructive way to channel her aggression, Maureen credits the sport with saving her life. Upon becoming an amateur boxer, Maureen was well noted and respected for her fighting skills. Initially training out of NY Boxing Gym with Luigi Olcese, eventually her path brought her to the door of Brooklyn's famous Gleason's to work with the legendary Hector Roca whom has trained the likes of Arturo Gatti and Hector Camacho. As a professional, Maureen is 13-2 with 7 KO, and well ranked in the top sanctioning bodies in women's boxing. Currently, Maureen is being trained by the well respected Tommy Brooks, a Trainer who was recently seen on the Contender Show and has worked with 17 World Champions.

Outside the ring too, Maureen Shea is a rising star. MTV's "MADE" called upon Shea to lend her skill and expertise to the show, asking her to coach and mentor a young ballerina on how to become a boxer.
In 2008, the pretty pugilist was also nominated by PETA for Sexiest Vegetarian, and most famously Shea is recognized for her work training with Hillary Swank for her award-winning portrayal of Maggie Fitzgerald in Million Dollar Baby. Always looking to hone her skills Maureen is training as well as actively working as a motivational and spiritual speaker.
