Getting on TV Thanks to Networking
Small business Verbatim will be featured on BBC TV's "Trust Me I'm A Dealer" this week (17th September 2009) due to networking.
LONDON, UK, September 17, 2009 /Television PR News/ -- Small business Verbatim will be featured on BBC TV's "Trust Me I'm A Dealer" this week (17th September 2009).
The programme sees antique dealer and TV presenter Paul Martin using a family's cash to buy and sell antiques, in the hopes he can turn a profit for them and help them fulfil a dream.
In the episode on the 17th September Paul attempts to help Bev Lindsey and her sisters raise the money needed to send their mother on a dream holiday to Madeira.
The opportunity came as a direct result of networking with other small businesses and lead to Graham Hill founder of Verbatim, a professional telephone answering service based in Newbury, asking Paul Martin to locate an antique telephone to decorate their reception area with an interesting piece.
Using Bev Lindsey's cash Paul Martin went in search of an antique telephone and took a risk that Graham Hill and the Verbatim team would like a candlestick telephone and would be willing to pay the asking price ensuring that the Lindsey sisters made a profit.
Graham paid GBP550 for the 'phone which netted Paul and the sisters GBP100 towards their target. But did they raise enough in the end? You'll have to watch the show on BBC Two on Thursday 17th September to find out.
Paul Martin said "I live and breathe antiques and relish the challenge of making people money to help fulfill their dreams and ambitions. It's great when you find the perfect antique for a client and the 'phone is a stunning centre piece for Verbatim's modern reception."
Not only does the 'phone look great - it also works! Verbatim has connected the telephone and Paul had the honour of being the first person to receive a call on it once it was placed in its new home.
"This was a fabulous opportunity for us and just goes to show the enormous benefits that networking can bring." said Graham Hill.
Trust Me, I'm A Dealer is on BBC Two Daytime at 6.30pm. The episode featuring Newbury based Verbatim can be seen on the 17th September.
