NEW YORK, NY, March 24, 2009 /Television PR News/ -- Michael Turner is the newest Parkour and Freerunning athlete to sign to the WFPF (World Freerunning & Parkour Federation). Turner, is a 19 year old native of Santa Barbara California and is part of Santa Barbara's Parkour/Freerunning group Civil Chaos. American Michael Turner joins the ranks of international athletes Ryan Doyle and Oleg Vorlsav, and a host of other American and international athletes who are part of a growing worldwide movement of Parkour and Freerunning.

The WFPF had been keeping its eye on Michael Turner for over a year, but only contacted Turner several months ago asking him if he would consider being part of the WFPF. After an initial enthusiastic meeting, the stage was set and it was quickly evident that this was a good fit for both Michael and the World Freerunning and Parkour Federation. Turner is a college student, all around athlete, motorcycle enthusiast and a lover of the beach lifestyle. His humility, intelligence and outgoing personality make Michael an ideal candidate to embody the movement and continue to help in its growth across the globe. "I just look at things differently," Turner says. "Once you become involved in this lifestyle, you just look at things in a totally different way." He also credits parkour and freerunning with helping to save his life. "Well, there was an incident with a motorcycle.... but more than that this movement helped me completely turn my life around 360 degrees and put it on the right track. I honestly believe I may not have been around today if I hadn't found Freerunning."

A WFPF spokesperson says, "The more I get to know Michael Turner, the more I like him and respect him. He is a great guy with alot of integrity and he's an awesome athlete. My respect for him increased even more when I learned how hard he has worked to become the person he is today. At 19, he really is a 'self-made' man, and he is truly a bright spirit"

Michael is looking forward to an upcoming international meet-up with some of his fellow WFPF colleagues where many of them will be in the same place together for the very first time. He is very much looking forward to the future and the multitude of possibilities with the WFPF, where he is anxious to show his personal style and personality in movement. He's also anxious for his training partner Nicholas Coolridge to join him in the WFPF. Nicholas is currently nursing an injury and the WFPF is anxious to partner up with Nicholas as well.
