"Let's Paint TV" celebrates its sixth anniversary!
Having shared a truly eclectic variety of guests and models for 6 years, artisit and entertainer John Kilduff and his show "Let's Paint TV" are proud to announce the beginning of a delightful 7th season.
/Television PR News/ - October 28, 2007 - Let's Paint almost defies classification. Kilduff, A lifelong artist, received his Bachelor's in fine arts at Otis Art Institute in 1987, and is a current MFA candidate at UCLA. He is also the perpetually optimistic and perpetually out of breath show host. There's no clear line to say that the show itself isn't art... a new hybrid of painting, video, and performance. Partly due to his jogging on a treadmill, but also largely to his almost complete lack of preparation, Let's Paint has an inherently lovable chaos. On any show he might bring a frying pan or a blender or a mini-grill.... and while trotting breathlessly on his treadmill, he might fry a pickle or blend a drink or grill a sandwich... all while also painting in an energetic fashion and fielding live viewer phone calls. The callers add to the frantic experience. "Even when you think they're bad they can actually be quite good," John remarked. The image of the treadmill, the artwork, and the food, and the occasional guest model is in fact the impetus for the show. Before the treadmill, John's show was only a quirkier-than-average painting program that would sometimes shoot on location, or instruct from the studio with amodel dressed as the Devil or Cupid.
Over the last 6 years, Kilduff has made painting fun, entertaining, and educating. Notable among John's guests are actor and model Michael Schmidt, who as a series regular has appeared dozens of times on the show modeling as either Cupid, Nero, Bacchus, Eros, Adam, The Devil, or most often as himself dressed only in skin... actress and model Debora Hunter, who has appeared as Aphrodite, Venus, Eve, or simply as herself... actress Emily Sinclair, who appears as Inga from Sweden to mix drinks or make sandwiches... muscian and comedian Thessaly Lerner who delights with song as The Ukulady as model... actor Josh Thompson, who appears as an very interactive Robert De Niro... and actor James Evans, who has made appearances as Saddam Hussein or Fidel Castro... all among the dozens who have gifted the show with their talents. Let's Paint has also had a wonderfully eclectic collection of musical talent appearing as backdrop to John's mayhem, including Frozen Plastic, Ultraviolet Eye, the Rahdunes, and Los Cremators, among others.
Still being seen througout the Southwest, as well as New York and Texas, Let's Paint TV has now been seen in Canada and the UK. Viewers are invited to tune in and get a chuckle as they watch a 7th year of making art entertaining. Check your local guides or contact your local stations.
