LOST Fans Baffled Over Jigsaw Puzzles
Fanatic followers of ABC's hit drama LOST have been hooked on the puzzling television series for over two seasons. Now they are equally stumped over a series of LOST, Mystery of the Island Jigsaw Puzzles that have recently hit the market.
/Television PR News/ - CHICAGO, IL, October 04, 2006 - Based on the mysteries surrounding the survivors of Oceanic Flight 815 and the treacherous island on which they have been stranded, the four LOST jigsaw puzzles each bear the disclaimer, "Spoiler Warning: Secrets are revealed. Do not assemble these puzzles unless you want exclusive new insight into TV's most puzzling drama series." On the surface, each puzzle appears to be a normal low-tech 1,000 piece jigsaw puzzle, but closer examination appears to reveal many layers of never before revealed secrets about the show.
"Tens of thousands of fans have become LOST information junkies," said Larry Balsamo, president of TDC Games, a well known maker of puzzles and board games. "If they just keep studying them, our puzzles will actually satisfy some of their cravings."
Created in collaboration between Balsamo and Javier Grillo-Marxuach, the former supervising producer of LOST, each of the puzzles reveals something, but it is only when all four are merged together that truly relevant insight can be achieved.
"We've already put together three of them," said Brian Schmidt, a firefighter and self-proclaimed LOST fanatic." We expected simple jigsaw puzzles, but these are something completely different. The longer you look at them, the more you find. We can't wait to get our hands on the fourth one."
Three of the puzzles, the first being "The Hatch," the next called "The Others" and the third entitled "The Numbers," have already been released. The fourth puzzle, "Before the Crash," which focuses on past life connections between the characters, will be released sometime during the show's third season, which debuts on October 4th, 2006.
"Assembling the puzzles is just the first step," said Sandra Bergeson, TDC Vice President." Just when you think you've uncovered the big secret, you have only just begun."
LOST was created by Jeffrey Lieber, J.J. Abrams and Damon Lindelof. Abrams, Linedelof, Bryan Burk, Jack Bender, Jeff Pinker and Carlton Cuse serve as executive producers. LOST, which premiered on September 22nd, 2004, is filmed entirely on location in Hawaii and is from Touchstone Television.
LOST, Mystery of the Island Jigsaw Puzzles are available at Barnes & Noble stores, online at Lostpuzzles.com and in toy, gift, department, and specialty stores nationwide at a suggested retail price of $15.99.
