/Television PR News/ - DEERFIELD, BEACH, FL- August 02, 2006 - Platinum Television Group is pleased to announce the selection of Adoption Placement, Inc. for its innovative, educational television series, Today's Family. The organization will be shown in a segment on "Getting Involved" in the Touching Hearts, Changing Lives series.

Adoption Placement, Inc. (API) is a charitable, non-profit child-placement agency. They assist both birth and adoptive parents in reference to properly placing children, and work with Russia, China, Guatemala, and domestically.

Adoption Placement, Inc. has been a licensed child-placement agency since 1992. Susan Lopez, a licensed clinical social worker, and Mary Ann Scherer, an adoption attorney, founded the agency in Plantation, FL. A board of directors, consisting of adoptive parents and professionals in the community, runs the center.

Adoption Placement, Inc. works to assist families in the adoptive process, working with birth parents to help them select appropriate parents for their child. They also offer professional assistance to new adoptive parents looking for knowledge to make an informed decision. Psychological and sociological evaluation to determine suitability for placement and post-placement supervision is provided. They encourage the adoption of older children and those with special needs, since most potential parents favor "perfect" children under three.

API welcomes donations to provide assistance for children residing in orphanages in other countries and to assist in special needs adoptions. Donations may also be used for counseling and care of birth mothers and children needing services.

API gives informative, free seminars monthly. Education for adoptive families, options about placement, and an opportunity to share experiences with other families who have adopted will be included. Information on adoption laws, international placement and costs will be included in the presentation.
