Deerfield Beach, FL - PTGTV is pleased to announce the selection of BioNetwork for its innovative, educational television series, Pulse on America.

/Television PR News/ - DEERFIELD, BEACH, FL - August 02, 2006 - PTGTV is pleased to announce the selection of BioNetwork for its innovative, educational television series, Pulse on America. The initiative will be featured in a segment on "Biotechnology in Today's College" in our Eye on Technology Series.

The North Carolina Community College System (NCCCS) BioNetwork is a statewide initiative that connects community colleges across the state, providing specialized training, curricula and equipment, to develop a world-class workforce for the biotechnology, pharmaceutical and life sciences industries. All NC community colleges serving the pharmaceutical and biotechnology sector are part of the network.

BioNetwork community colleges provide the specialized education and training necessary for people seeking the transition into a well-paid biotech job. They hold job fairs, allowing students to meet directly with industry recruiters. Estimates by the North Carolina Biotechnology Center show that 2000 biotech jobs a year are being created for people with community college-level training.

Because of the highly-regulated nature of this industry, a well-trained workforce is one of the most important considerations when companies are deciding where they will place a new manufacturing facility. North Carolina's labor force has excellent credentials, and BioNetwork's extensive cutting-edge, hands-on, workforce education and training makes the state extremely attractive as a location for new facilities. It is known that many of the world's largest bio-manufacturing facilities are already located in North Carolina. NCCCS BioNetwork intends to play its role in making North Carolina the location of choice in the USA for biomanufacturing.

BioNetwork is a 2006 Telly Award winner for its television commercials, which portray the stories of real people who obtained the specialized training necessary at community colleges and then got jobs in the life sciences industry. These stories of hope have inspired many North Carolinians seeking to transition from the traditional low-skill manufacturing sector - which has been hard-hit by layoffs - to this 21st century sector.
