Platinum Television Group announces affiliation with DWELL magazine

A relative newcomer to the home and design field, Dwell published its first issue in August 2000, and has quadrupled its circulation in recent years. It was born out of a woman's enthusiasm for her own remodeling project—Lara Hedberg Deam, of Mill Valley, CA, is now the owner. She created Dwell to expand perceptions of the word "home." It is the first consumer shelter magazine to address both the interiors and exteriors of modern homes, as well as to intelligently discuss and integrate issues of innovative design, architecture and life. Designers and homeowners are put into the forefront.
The magazine, which is currently published eight times a year and has a circulation of more than 150,000, will feature full-page color ads for Platinum Television's half-hour shows New Home Journal, Today's Family, Great Taste, and others. The ads will spotlight companies that will be chosen for and highlighted in special segments of these shows.
Platinum Television will produce one :30 spot for Dwell magazine, which will air 85 times on family oriented networks.
Dwell delivers unique editorial to readers, whose average median income is $104,000, and average age is 44. Most (76%) are subscribers, with average paid circulation 162,981 and a guaranteed rate base for ads of 200,000. Professional and managerial types comprise 67 % of its audience. The publication has experienced "phenomenal" growth with advertising increasing by 40% every year.
"At Home in the Modern World" is the motto for the magazine--and Platinum Television Group's varied and topical shows will showcase the best offerings of companies catering to this phenomenon.
